ABOUT

A Bronx native and veteran on the New York hip hop scene, Angel Martinez is a highly sought after consultant, producer and advisor in the American music industry. He is currently the product manager for G-Unit Records and boasts a full resume of A-list clients and unique entertainment industry experiences. Angel’s favorite quote is a great indicator of his tenacious personality: “The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it.” – Chinese Proverb.

Down to earth and hardworking by nature, it’s no surprise that Martinez has made a name for himself in the city that never sleeps. Born December, Martinez was introduced to hip hop music at an early age. Since then, Martinez has embraced his talents and wholeheartedly pursued his career in the industry.

In 2001, Martinez launched his career as an intern at Sony working in the IT and radio promotions departments. After a year of successfully juggling his studies and his role at Sony, Martinez broadened his experience by accepting an internship at Interscope Records in the artists and repertoire (A&R) division which eventually led to his promotion to the marketing coordinator at Interscope in 2003.

Following his time at Interscope, the eager entrepreneur accepted an internship in 2004 that once again led to a permanent role as product manager at G-Unit Records where he continues to work today. Working with high profile clients such as Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, DJ Whoo Kid, Young Hot Rod, Spider Loc and Young Buck, Martinez has excelled in his career while pursuing his passion.  As part of his role at G-Unit, Martinez acted as DJ Whoo Kid’s personal assistant and became an executive producer of G-Unit Radio on Sirius XM Satellite Radio, channel Shade 45 where he was responsible for show coordination, maintenance, recording, artist liaison, and on air co-hosting.

Currently the ‘go-to’ guy at G-Unit, Martinez looks forward to adding to his portfolio by creating his own t-shirt line as well as launching a specialized consulting firm which will focus on individuality and exclusiveness rather than mass product. Angel also currently writes for www.thisis50.com which has helped him further develop and share his knowledge of today’s artists and the music industry.

“I love music and I thrive in this industry,” said Martinez, “I look forward to continuing to build my career in the entertainment world and I truly hope to influence those around me and inspire the next generation of music enthusiasts.”

Some of the notable album projects that Martinez has worked on include Lloyd Banks – H.F.M. 2, G Unit – T.O.S. – Terminate on Sight, Young Buck – Buck the World, 50 Cent – Curtis, Lloyd Banks – Rotten Apple, Tony Yayo – Thoughts of a Predicate Felon, Slim Thug – Already Platinum and Jadakiss – Kiss Of Death.
